The User Revolution is empowering users to take greater control over how they consume and share information across networks and devices. Therefore, the battle for user attention is more competitive than ever before. Online businesses across all industries – content, communications, products, and services – need to differentiate the ways they attract, engage, and enrich users. This track examines the ways in which search is empowering user discovery, targeting ads more effectively, and enabling the development of new online products and services to drive stickiness and loyalty, conversion, better advertising ROI, and new revenue streams. |
Providing your employees with the right information at the right time is more critical than ever but the challenges have never been greater. Users’ expectations are increasing and content continues its explosive growth while becoming ever more complex. In the face of these challenges, how do you engage your users effectively to capitalize on the rich information assets that exist – but are often hidden – within your organization? This track will explore how search extends the value of those assets to your users through unique experiences that expose relevant information quickly, drive innovation in critical business functions, consolidate multiple views of the customer, increase user adoption, tap into the knowledge of the community and facilitate collaboration, and “push” new content through alerts and notifications. |

The Right Information to the Right People at the Right Time: How High-end Search Is the Key - CJ Boxill
One of the core challenges for any successful organisation is delivering relevant information in a timely fashion to their employees. Data is often spread across multiple corporate repositories and content cues are not always matched to user context in ways that promote findability. Furthermore, Web 2.0 tools are providing an additional layer of user-generated data to the equation, making it even more difficult to tap into the right information with a single search. This session will give you insights into how high-end search technology from FAST can help you make the most of your content and create an intuitive search experience allowing your users to get better answers, faster. This session discusses common use scenarios and ways to meld SharePoint and FAST ESP to better deploy your greatest asset – your employees – and deliver the right information to them at the right time.
